About Us

It all started with a simple “Hello" to a fellow making a sand sculpture, followed by a definite “Yes" when he offered me the opportunity to have a go. Fast forward a few years and I am now joined by a wonderful team of enthusiastic and hardworking creatives based in West Yorkshire, some of whom you can meet below. We also have an amazingly talented team of freelance artists, sculptors and workshop experts who join us on larger events and busy periods.

Jamie Wardley

Jamie Wardley, Sand Artist

I am a mixed bag with a dose of art, a sprinkle of theatre and an education in Environmental Sciences. I have always tried to do things that bring enjoyment, as I believe if you do, then there is a real chance you will be successful and fulfilled.

All the details sort themselves out in the end and great things happen if you just have a go. This led me to working in ice hotels and international sand sculpture festivals across the globe. When I started making sand art in the UK, Sand In Your Eye was born. I am now joined by a small team that extends to a big family of lovely folk on our larger projects. I count myself to be a very fortunate sand and ice sculptor. Click here to read about how I became a sculptor.

Claire Jamieson

Hello! After working for over 10 years as a product designer and in senior design management for a number of UK retailers, I love nothing more than being creative and looking for new opportunities.

Jamie introduced me to the wonderful world of Sand In Your Eye around 4 years ago, where I was lucky enough to learn sand art. I was so taken with it I decided to leave my full time job and a follow a career as a sand artist. You can find me either on a beach, playing in the sand or in our studio chatting to customers and collaborators. No day is ever the same and I love it!

Who We've Worked With

The people we work with and their motivations for collaborating with Sand In Your Eye are as varied as the colours of the rainbow. These range from charities, local authorities, PR & advertising agencies, music festivals, and television & media broadcasters. Below are but a few examples with links to case studies.
